You need to set up a parent login to the Parent Portal. It's easy. Click on the button below. Then, click where it says "Click here to access the Parent Portal Registration". It's in tiny writing. Then, just follow what it says. Once you're in Portal you can check your student's grades in Gradebook.

I don't know how to help my child with their math homework. What do I do?
1. You can get on to ThinkCentral and look at the Math textbook we use in class by clicking on "Library" and then "GoMath! Student Edition ebook".
2. You can watch a video tutorial of the content by clicking on "Library" and then "Math on the Spot Video Tutorial". It will ask you for the chapter and lesson. Look at the top of the homework for the Lesson number. The first number is the chapter, the second number is the lesson. For example, Lesson 5.6 would be Chapter 5 Lesson 6.
3. You can also look at an interactive version of the text book which walks you through problems step by step. Just click on "Library" and then "Interactive Student Edition".

My child can't take AR quizzes at home because the website doesn't work. How do I fix this?
You have to go to a very specific AR link that has been set up for our school or it will not work. Click on the button below or here is the URL: https://hosted407.renlearn.com/252641

How can I help my child at home?
There are so many ways you can help your student. I'll tell you the most impactful ways.
Reading:
1. Have your child read. Have them read to you or to a sibling. Have them read silently. Have them read out loud to their favorite toy. Make sure they are taking AR Quizzes. The more reading they do on their level, the more success they are going to have.
2. If they bring home homework packets, please make sure they complete them every single day. Those packets really help students improve.
3. Read to your child. Hearing a fluent reader helps your child learn what good reading should sound like. Read in English or Spanish. Just read. You can also go to storylineonline.net, which is a website that has lots of books that are read out loud by different people.
Math:
1. Have your child do their math homework. No, it doesn't go on their grade, but it is excellent practice. Make sure they do it every night.
2. Make sure they practice their math facts at home.
3. Have them play some of the games on this website or on ST Math. It really helps!
Do the students start testing this year?
Yes. Third grade is the first year that students take the big, end-of-year, state tests. These tests take place in April and May. They help determine how much information your child retained throughout the school year. They are difficult tests, and we work very hard to make sure the students are prepared and feel comfortable taking the them.
